If you forgot your password on an IUPUI shared system, you may do one of the following:

  • If you know your network password, you can change most of your passwords (synchronize them to the same password) using the Password Maintenance utility. You can access this utility at:
      http://password.iu.edu/
  • If you are unable to remember your Network ID password, or if it has been corrupted, you need to do one of the following:
    • Take a photo ID to the UITS Support Center in Indianapolis in the Education/Social Work Building (ES 2126). The consultant at the front desk will verify your identity and reset your password.

The UITS Support Center in ES 2126 is open 8am-9pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm Friday, 9am-3pm Saturday, and 12pm-4pm Sunday. Semester break hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday.

    • Contact your department's local support provider for assistance with resetting your password.

Note: You can only reset your Research SP password by taking your picture ID to one of the IU Bloomington Support Center walk-in offices. The new password will be propagated to all Research SP nodes.

For more about walk-in support, see Contact your campus IT Support Center.

Notes:
  • When you change your IU passphrase, it may take up to 20 minutes for all systems to recognize the new passphrase. UITS recommends waiting 20 minutes before contacting the Support Center if you have trouble logging into IU systems, such as One.IU.
  • You will receive email confirmation when you change your passphrase. For group accounts, the account and account owner will receive the message.
