JavaBeans are reusable components for writing platform-independent applications in Java. Developers can use beans to build programs in less time, and with fewer lines of code, that can share events with applets, non-Java applications, and ActiveX controls. JavaBeans are part of the Java Development Kit 1.1 and higher, which is available from Sun Microsystems' Java site:
