In Windows XP or Vista, how can I turn printing notification on and off?

To turn printing notification on and off in Windows XP or Vista:

  1. In the default view, from the Start menu, select Control Panel. Click Printer and Other Hardware, and then click the Printers icon in Vista, or the Printers and Faxes icon in XP.

    In Classic View, from the Start menu, select Settings, and then Control Panel. Click the Printers and Faxes icon.

  2. In the Printers and Faxes window, from the File menu (press Alt if you do not see the menus), select Server Properties.

  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then check or uncheck Notify when remote documents are printed to either enable or disable the printing notification.

  4. Click OK to save the changes, and then close the dialog box.
