In Windows, how can I add or delete devices in the Send To menu?

When you right-click a folder or file in Windows, the menu that appears has a Send To option that allows you to copy the file or folder to various locations, such as a floppy drive or your desktop. To add another item to this menu (for example, a folder, drive, or program), you can create a shortcut for it in your SendTo folder.

For example, you could create a shortcut for a Zip drive in your SendTo folder by dragging and dropping the Zip drive onto the folder. Then, whenever you wanted to send something to the Zip drive, you would right-click the file or folder you wanted to send, select Send To, and then select the Zip drive.

You can also create a shortcut for the SendTo folder in the SendTo folder itself. That way, in the future, you can drop folders or drives directly into the SendTo folder through the Send To option.

To add or remove devices from the Send To menu, follow the appropriate instructions below:

Windows 2000 or XP

The SendTo folder is at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Sendto\, where username is your username. To add or remove a shortcut from the menu, add it to or delete it from this folder.

Windows 95 OSR2, 98, or Me

The SendTo folder is at C:\Windows\SendTo. To add or remove a shortcut from the menu, add it to or delete it from this folder.

Windows NT 4.0

The SendTo folder is at C:\Winnt\profiles\username\Sendto\, where username is your username. To add or remove a shortcut from the menu, add it to or delete it from this folder.
