Can UITS restore a file in RFS or MDSS that I deleted accidentally?

If you accidentally delete data in your Research File System (RFS) space, you can request a restore for $15. At Indiana University Bloomington, contact the UITS Support Center at 812-855-6789, or send email to  ithelp@iu.edu . At IUPUI, send email to the same address, or phone the UITS Support Center at 317-274-4357. You may also request a file recovery in person at one of the UITS Support Center walk-in locations. The read-only 1day-backup directory in your RFS space allows you to restore a file deleted accidentally since the last system backup was performed (usually the previous night). However, the deleted file will not be retained when the folder is backed up at the end of the twenty-four hour cycle. If you wish to restore a document, copy it from the 1day-backup folder before the next system backup is performed and the file is lost.

MDSS

If you delete a file in the MDSS, UITS cannot restore the file.
