Using Adobe Reader, can I edit a PDF document?
You cannot edit PDF documents using Adobe Reader alone; Reader only allows you to view and print PDF documents. To create or edit a PDF document in Windows or Mac OS X, you need Adobe Acrobat (Standard, Pro, or Pro Extended), or a third-party application such as OpenOffice.org.
Many Adobe software products are available free via IUware for IU students, faculty, and staff under the IU/Adobe License Agreement. For details, see What software is available through the Adobe agreement, and how can I get it?
For instructions and download links, see At IU, where can I find Adobe Acrobat?
