ARCHIVED: What is Kurzweil software, and where can I find it at IU?
Kurzweil 3000 is a software program used to scan and read documents. You can have the text read to you by synthesized voice, and also manipulate the text (size, for example). You can also use Kurzweil 3000 as a word processing program.
The Adaptive Technology and Accessibility Centers (ATAC) at Indiana University Bloomington and IUPUI provide this software and needed training (including a training CD) to qualified students. To access a Kurzweil 3000 tutorial developed by the ATAC staff, visit the ATAC's Kurzweil 3000 page.
You can find a complete listing of software available through the ATAC at Adaptive Technology Center - Software.
For more information about adapative technology, see ARCHIVED: Assistive technology services at IU
