In ITHelpLive, what are the security settings?

In ITHelpLive, three levels of security give you the ability to decide what information a Support Center consultant can access on your computer during an ITHelpLive session and which actions, if any, the consultant can perform without your permission. You can change the settings at any time during the session without having to restart either the software or the session.

The ITHelpLive security settings are as follows:

  • Low: This setting grants the Support Center consultant full access to your system without having to gain permission before performing tasks.

  • Medium: This level requires that the consultant gain permission from you in order to access hard disks or network drives, begin desktop sharing, edit registry values, or launch a new task.

  • High: This setting includes all the restrictions of the Medium setting, and the consultant must also gain permission from you before reading and editing system files or viewing system devices.
