Log into the IU Knowledge Base (KB)

Later in 2024, Indiana University will retire the Knowledge Management System (KMS) and move the IU Knowledge Base to the ServiceNow Knowledge platform. For more, see About the IU Knowledge Base transition to ServiceNow Knowledge. If you have questions or would like to have a conversation about the migration, contact the Knowledge Management team at kb@iu.edu.

Anyone can search the Indiana University Knowledge Base (KB) for answers to questions about information technology at IU. Since some content is available only to the IU community, be sure to log into the KB to see all the information available to you. For more, see About restricted KB content.

To log into the IU KB, select the Log in button near the search box at the top of any KB page:

If you're not already logged into another IU service, you'll be redirected to sign in using IU Login. Enter your IU username and passphrase, complete a Two-Step Login (Duo) authentication, and you'll return to the KB.

Log in using your personal IU credentials; group or departmental accounts do not have access to most restricted content.

If you've already logged into another IU service (for example, One.IU or Canvas), selecting the KB Log in button will pass your credentials automatically, so you won't need to enter them again.

When you're logged into the KB, the Log in button's text will change to Log out. If you select Log out, you'll automatically be logged out of the KB, plus you'll be prompted for a complete logout. If you don't select Log out, you'll remain logged into the KB until your full login session times out.
