Update your IU email address for third-party services

As part of the One Mail initiative, Indiana University is transitioning to a single email domain, iu.edu. For details and actions you may need to take, see Prepare for One Mail at IU.

As part of this transition, you should make sure to check all third-party services you use to determine whether your campus-specific IU email address is either a login address or a notification address, and update those accounts to use another email address. UITS recommends using a personal email address for any services that are unrelated to IU, such as social media accounts, Apple ID, banks or utility bills, streaming services, etc.

The following list includes some of the third-party services or agencies that many IU employees or retirees may have accounts with; however, it may not include all the accounts you need to change.

  • Anthem: If you registered on anthem.com or through the Sydney Health app with your campus-specific IU email address, you'll need to change it as follows:
    • Update from the web portal:
      1. Log into https://www.anthem.com/.
      2. Select Profile in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
      3. Select Edit next to "My Plan Contact Details" in the middle of the screen.
      4. Update your email address.
      5. Select Update.
    • Update from the Sydney Health app:
      1. Log into the Sydney Health app.
      2. Select Menu from the bottom navigation.
      3. Select Account & Settings.
      4. Select Profile.
      5. Select Edit next to "My Plan Contact Details" in the middle of the screen.
      6. Update your email address.
      7. Select Update.
  • Care.com: You can change your email address directly with Care.com, as follows:
    1. Log into https://care.com/yourbenefits.
    2. On the home screen, select the circle icon with your initials near the top right corner.
    3. Select Profile.
    4. Next to "e-mail", select Verify Now.
    5. Select the Edit link for the "General Information" box.
    6. Update your email address in the "Email" and "Confirm Email" fields.
    7. Select Submit.
  • CVS: If you registered on CVS.com with your campus-specific IU email, you'll need to go online to change this with CVS:
    1. Log into https://www.caremark.com/.
    2. Scroll down to the "Contact Information" section and select Edit email address.
    3. Scroll down to the "My Contact Information" section and select Edit next to "Email address".
    4. Enter your updated email address in the "New email address" and "Confirm new email address" boxes.
    5. Select Save changes.
  • Cigna: If you registered on cigna.com with your campus-specific IU email address, you'll need to change it:
    1. Log into https://my.cigna.com/web/public/guest.
    2. Hover over your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and select Profile.
    3. Under "Contacts & Communications", select Email Address.
    4. Select Edit under your email address.
    5. Enter your updated email in the "Edit Email Address" and "Retype Email Address" boxes.
    6. Select Verify and Save.
    7. Follow the on-screen steps to verify your updated email address.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): If you registered with your campus-specific IU email address, you'll need to update it with SupportLinc as follows:
    1. Log into https://www.supportlinc.com/.
    2. On the home screen, select the circle icon with your initials near the top right corner.
    3. Select Profile under "Account".
    4. Select the Account Information tab.
    5. Update your email address.
    6. Select Update.
  • Fidelity: Your email address will automatically update to reflect your primary email address in IU systems.
  • The Standard: Most communication uses postal mail rather than email; however, The Standard will update email addresses based on your primary IU email address, requiring no action on your part.
  • TIAA: You can change your email address preferences directly with TIAA, as follows:
    1. Log into https://www.tiaa.org/public.
    2. On the home screen, select Profile in the upper right corner.
    3. Select Manage Profile.
    4. Select Edit icon.
    5. Update your email address in the "Primary" and "Secondary" Email fields.
    6. Select Save Changes.
  • WEX (formerly Nyhart): If you used your campus-specific IU email address for your Nyhart (now WEX) account, it has been updated to use your iu.edu address. If you used a personal email address, that remains in place.
  • WW (Weight Watchers): If you registered with your campus-specific IU email address, you'll need to go online to change it as follows:
    1. Log into the WW app.
    2. On the home screen of your profile, within the WW app, select the Settings icon in the top right corner.
    3. Scroll down to "Manage My Account".
    4. Select Account.
    5. Select Email.
    6. Update your email address.
    7. Select Update.
